Who We Are
Our web address is: https://image5ure.com.
Yes, it’s a fine address — we thought about making it longer, but brevity is the soul of wit.
Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data you willingly hand us (name, thoughts, and the occasional spirited rant) along with your IP address and browser user agent — the sort of things one must gather to keep the spam at bay.
Your email address may be transformed into an anonymized string (like a Victorian calling card, only far less charming) and handed to the Gravatar service to check if you have a profile picture. If you do, your likeness will be revealed to the public alongside your comment, making your opinion look as dashing as it sounds.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid smuggling in location data (EXIF GPS) unless you wish the world to know exactly where your garden party took place. Clever visitors can and will extract this information.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt‑in to having your name, email, and website stored in cookies for your convenience. This spares you from the frightful tedium of retyping your details for each new comment. These cookies last for one year — long enough to forget what a cookie even is.
Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies at all. (It contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser, like a polite guest who knows when to leave.)
When you log in, we set cookies to store your login info and your screen preferences. If you click “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks — quite the act of devotion in internet time. Logging out removes the cookies entirely.
Editing or publishing an article will add yet another cookie, which notes only the post ID of what you just edited. It expires in a day, the digital equivalent of a gossip column.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). These behave as though you visited the original site, which may collect data, plant cookies, and observe your interaction. In short, they are guests in our parlour with their own agendas.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We find it best to let technology remember what we cannot.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments (and their metadata) are retained indefinitely. It saves us the trouble of asking you to repeat yourself.
Registered users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames, which are like birth names — they stick). Administrators can also view and adjust these details, though we assure you we are far too tasteful to meddle without cause.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of your personal data or request we erase it. This excludes data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. (Even Wilde appreciated a little order amidst the chaos.)
Where Your Data is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Think of it as a bouncer at the door, keeping the riffraff out.
